This is the second part of our 2008 trip to the west coast of mainland Mexico and returning through the deserts.
After spending almost 7 weeks in the Mexican beach town of Lo de Marcos, we headed north camping our way up the coast, crossing into the US at Nogales, Arizona. With a little internet research while in Mexico, we found out that it was an unusually good year in the Southwest deserts for wildflowers, thanks to winter rains.
We made our way to Saguaro National Park just outside Tucson, Arizona where we found that they were right!
What a display! We have never seen the desert so green and full of flowers and blossoms.
After Tucson, we did the whole desert park tour going to Organ Pipe Cactus National Monument in the SW corner of Arizona, Joshua Tree National Park near Palm Springs, Anza Borrego Desert State Park south of Palm Springs and finally a quick overnight boondock in Mojave National Preserve.
Once again, I hope the photos tell the story.

Enjoy! .................... Dave
